Professor Amir Zaki’s Empty Vessel opens on September 19th at the Frank M. Doyle Arts Pavilion on the campus of OCC. This extensive exhibition will interweave photographs of empty skateparks made at dawn and photographs of broken ceramic shards as still lifes.

Professor Amir Zaki’s first internationally distributed Monograph is now available. California Concrete: A Landscape of Skateparks, published by Merrell (London & New York), is a hardcover, 128-page book featuring 72 color plates, and essays by legendary pro skateboarder Tony Hawk, Los Angeles based architect Peter Zellner, and Zaki.
The book and work have recently been featured on NPR, WIRED Magazine, DEZEEN Magazine, The Architect’s Newspaper, Hypebeast, Wallpaper* Magazine, La Repubblica, and Italian Vogue.
